During Anime Expo on the 4th of July, 2006, Linlin and I prowled the Artist Alley looking for another Japanese artist to commission art for me.
I scored finding Eikuu-san. I liked her art so much I commissioned two pieces from her (she was too tired to do more, haha). She's a very talented

First commissioned art for Detective Conan. Art referenced mainly from volume 47, the Ran's Suspicions arc. I love how Shinichi looks here.

Second commissioned art for Prince of Tennis. Interesting note, Eikuu-san did this grayscale art with only three gray Copic markers. Nice, ne? Art
referenced from Genius 306. I told her that it would be okay if she drew them a little older. Sakuno looks great here, very serene. I especially like
the shading on her face.

When I went to Anime Expo in 2007, I found Eikuu-san again. Asking her for more commissioned art was a no-brainer. It turned out that she remembered me (I wonder if that's a good thing? Haha). This piece is remarkably similar to last years! |
